VINCE WILDING
(aka Honest Jock Matlow)
I would like to make a toast to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking.
If you're going to lie, lie for a friend.
If you're going to steal, steal a heart.
If your going to cheat, cheat death.
And if you're going to drink, drink with me!

Vince's musical interests were awakened and nurtured by two great teachers, Don Doughty & Romayne Hagyard.

Vince has always followed Mr Clemens' maxim "Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth". He sings for the pure joy. He came into the maritime musical trade via his old sensei, Craig Williams, aka Long John Skivee of the Pyrates Royale. Through Craig, he learned of the monthly Chantey Sing at his favorite restaurant, the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton, MD. From there he joined the living history group Ship's Company, interpreting a sailor from the War of 1812. So basically, it's all Skivee's fault!

Favorite maritime song: Ben Backstay

Non-maritime musical influences: Leon Redbone, Harry Connick Jr, Jimmy Buffet (Sorry, Tara) & Bobby McFerrin
